Medicare Supplement

Medigap Plans

Medicare Supplement Insurance coverage – also known as Medigap – are policies available from private insurance companies, for a monthly premium, that help pay for some out of pocket costs. These areas can include deductibles, copayments and coinsurance. Travel outside of the US may be covered for medical care that’s needed. It’s important to know:

  • You must have Medicare Part A and Medicare Part B
  • You cannot have a Medicare Part C policy
  • Most Medicare Supplement Insurance plans do not cover long-term care, private duty nursing or prescription drug coverage. They also don’t involve dental care, hearing aids, vision care and more

A BIG Change to Medigap that Starts in 2020

Congress is making adjustments to Medigap (Medicare Supplement) and it could affect you. Be aware that a new Medigap plan that begins on or after January 1, 2020 will not cover a deductible as part of Medicare Part B. Medigap Plan C and Plan F will no longer be offered. Because of this upcoming new law, if you wait too long to enroll, you will need to pay through your deductible before Medigap coverage begins.

If Medigap is a logical Medicare Supplement plan for you, you’ll want to take action soon. If you are enrolled on or before December 31, 2019, you will be “grandfathered in” so you’ll get to keep a Medigap plan that’s offered now.

When a new law is put in place, it can be confusing for everyone. We can go through Medigap plan options with you and help you make an informed decision. We’ll make it simple and clear – and provide expert advice at no charge.   We’re here for you. Together we’ll determine the right direction at the right time.

I am so glad that I found my Medicare Options agent, Bob K.! He knows exactly what plan is the best for you & if you qualify for extra help because of your income. I have met with other agents to discuss Medicare Advantage Plans & they were ok, but Bob is very knowledgeable on all the plans! I trust him completely.
